Professional Bio

Brief overview

I am a Research Associate at the Geophysical Institute (GI), University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) working with Prof. Ronni Grapenthin and team. Presently, I work on volcano-tectonic interactions and rapid earthquake characterizations using seismic and geodetic data.

I was previously employed at the Institute of Earth Sciences (University of Iceland, Reykjavik) as a Postdoctoral researcher, and worked with Prof. Ingi Bjarnason on the seismicity and stress evolution in the South Iceland Seismic Zone (SISZ).

Prior to working at the University of Iceland, I worked at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR, Bangalore, India) as a Research Associate (2017-2018), collaborating with Prof. C.P. Rajendran at the centre, and with Dr. Surendra Nadh Somala at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH).

I completed my PhD in Earth Sciences from the Centre for Earth Sciences, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, under the supervision of Prof. Kusala Rajendran, in 2017. The thesis examined several large/great earthquakes along the Indian plate boundary.
